Area D: Complex liquid-solid interactions and transport processes

Determine the mechanisms of interaction of complex liquid systems with porous membranes used for the membrane emulsification.

Evaluate and optimize the interaction of nanoparticle-based inks with various solids, such as silicon, polymer films and paper. The proposed research will focus on understanding the effect of physicochemical properties of the inks on the interactions upon contact with the substrate: spreading, drying rate and the self-assembly of the conducting particles upon drying onto or within the substrate pores.

Understand, model and predict the nanoscale mechanisms of spreading of complex liquids over substrate heterogeneities and elements of porous structure as well as mechanisms of deposition of nanoparticles and molecules at these structures.
